Paye Family Studios is a film production company founded by Irvine B. Paye, one man with a big dream to change the world with creativity and passion. Paye was born and raised in West Orange, New Jersey. His inspirational journey started shortly after the devastating split of his parents. While Irvine was living with his loving mother and nearly lost everything, he started to fall in love with movies. It was after watching one of his favorite directors, Tyler Perry, when he thought about creating his own film production company. By the age of just 16, Paye named his company and began working on his very first movie script. His ideas continued to blossom as he grew older and started college at Penn State University.
Paye's first ever video, Kyrie Irving: Throughout the Years, was a biopic expressing the history of NBA player Kyrie Irving from a teenage boy to adulthood. It wasn't until the video hit YouTube that his confidence level in his work and ideas gradually began to increase as the views for this documentary skyrocketed. Paye spent months editing clips and vocals, practicing his skills in the software Final Cut Pro X before moving on Adobe Premiere Pro. He worked alongside Dan Jamison in 2014, who brought Paye this first film opportunity. Throughout the Years has reached over one million views on YouTube, which attracted, and still continues to attract an audience to Paye Family Studios. While it was just the beginning, this project allowed him to learn his weaknesses and his begin the journey of pursuing his passion.
The next large project Paye completed was his very first short film, Pursuer. He worked with a small team of six students at Penn State, who helped him to carry out this production. He was mainly the writer, director, and producer for this film. Paye is continuing to work on short films to develop the great film cuts mixed with camera angles, lighting, movements and other elements to create the biggest and most powerful message behind a feature film.
As Paye gained publicity on social platforms, he was given hope that this message would go viral. Beauty, Body, and the Brain, his most recent short documentary film, expresses the all too real issue of self-confidence of an individual in today’s society. Paye spent hours brainstorming ideas for this film. Ironically, it took about 4 or 5 trials of ideas before he finally settled on the layout of this film. With this, he translated the message of enhancing the dream of becoming a model to dealing with low self-esteem.
Today, Paye Family Studios plans to expand with its many projects ranging from photography and short films to movies and television shows. This company also represents the West African roots of Liberia and the culture that was brought upon the community, encountering different ways to articulate it through film. A company based on love and faith, Paye Family Studios reminds you to never forget where you came from and most importantly to never give up on your dreams through moving pictures.
